I have set up the dish on a mast in the garden in a relatively
unobtrusive position (particular thanks to Java Jive for the
invaluable alignment app) and the TBS tuner card in my pc seems to be
functioning well.
I am receiving the (Freeview equivalent) Freesat channels on Astra 1N
and 2F without the reception problems currently noticeable on our
Freeview setup caused by high winds and rain, which is a step in the
right direction.
The only channels missing at the moment seem to be CBBC and BBC3. BBC3
is no loss but the inability to get Shaun the sheep could cause
domestic problems. Is the this missing channels a common problem or
one specific to my setup?
The next step is the construction of the standalone HTPC.
